Chapter 10
In the coasts of Judea by the farther side of Jordan, to the Pharisees
3What did Moses command you?
5For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8and they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 9What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
In the house, to his disciples
11Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. 12And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
Context Mar 10:2-12
14Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 15Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
Context Mar 10:13-16
To a rich man
18Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God. 19Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
21One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
To his disciples
23How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
27With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Context Mar 10:17-27
29Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, 30but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. 31But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
Context Mar 10:28-31
On the way to Jerusalem, to his disciples
33Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: 34and they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
Context Mar 10:32-34
To James and John
36What would ye that I should do for you?
38Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? And be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
39Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized: 40but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
To the other ten disciples
42Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 43But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44and whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. 45For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Context Mar 10:35-45
In Jericho, to blind Bartimaeus
51What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?
52Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.
Context Mar 10:46-52
Chapter 11
At the Mount of Olives, to two of his disciples
2Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him. 3And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? Say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.

On his way to Jerusalem, to a fig tree

Context Mar 11:12-14
In Jerusalem’s temple, to them that bought and sold in the temple
17Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? But ye have made it a den of thieves.
Context Mar 11:15-19
By the cursed fig tree, to his disciples
22Have faith in God. 23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Context Mar 11:20-26
In Jerusalem’s temple, to the chief priests and scribes
29I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. 30The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.
33Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
